Wish List Wednesday: Online Shopping.

I’ve mentioned before that I really do not enjoy window shopping. However, me and online shopping, we get along really well. We’re pretty good friends, the internet and I. Yesterday I decided I needed to do some therapeutic online shopping. For years now I have added thousands of items to online shopping carts just to let them sit there forever. You see, I never actually buy any of it, but popping it in the virtual cart almost feels just as good as if I was hanging the new item in my closet. One of the reasons I “shop” online is to find things I like, duh. But then I look at what I like online and figure out what of those things I already kind of have. Like that first pink top. After adding it to my american eagle cart I went to get dressed today and I just wanted that pink top! So I looked through my own closet and pulled out my pink and white striped pocket tee from the Gap that has been hiding/ it has a small hole in the back which requires a jacket be worn so I tend to write it off. I slid that tee off the hanger and made my own little variation of the outfit I wanted. Zero spent.. and it’s kind of like a new shirt again since I haven’t worn it for so long. (I love when I haven’t worn something for so long that when I do put it on again the mister asks if its new.. It’s like I went shopping in my own closet.)

So up there, is just a bit of what is currently sitting in my online shopping carts. Everything is from either J.Crew, American Eagle/Aerie, or Ann Taylor Loft. FYI- if I had ordered everything yesterday I’d be out $1236. We’ll be sticking to the “leave it in the cart” method for a while longer. Also, just a little tidbit. There are several companies where if you’ve bought something from them before, and therefore they have your e-mail address, and you put items in an online shopping cart and then “x” out of the screen, they’ll send you an e-mail saying something to the extent of “hey you left some items in your cart, come back and get them with 15% off!”. It works, and I’ve done it more times than is probably ethical.

Wish List Wednesday: Pottery Barn Edition

Just throwing this out there to the Pottery Barn people.. you could absolutely send me any of these things (or really just anything) and I’d take a million and a half pictures of them in my home and write raving reviews of how wonderful the PB brand is. The ball is officially in your court.

Here’s what I’m wishing for this week…

lamp | pillows | clock

Lamp- So it turns out that Clint and I are kind of lamp people. We’ve been admiring this, and several others, for a while now and often go into Pottery Barn just to get googly eyed as we set our eyes on yet another must-have lamp. This particular one has a pulley, which is of particular interest to my mister. I’ve quite honestly never been much of a floor lamp person, I’ve always thought they looked so vacant and bare, this lamp is an exception to that. It has character, charm, and actually even manages to do its job all at the same time.

Pillows- I love pillows so much. I’ve been slowly but surely looking for new pillows/covers to replace the ones we currently have on our couch and as I was picking my jaw up off the floor once again after seeing the prices, I spotted these adorable little monogrammed ones. We of course would do cSk and we’d get it in teal to match our duvet. The PB has so much monogrammed wonderful-ness that I could very easily find myself in a home one day where everything has our initials on it. I would LOVE it, but it might be just a bit much.

Clock- I just imagine that if you have a clock like this in your house, you have a fun house. It’s like subway station meets rustic Hampton’s kitchen and we wind up with this great piece. This would be a great statement piece for a small space and I especially appreciate it because those giant oversized wall clocks really just aren’t my style most of the time. This is a nice little clock alternative.

Wish List Wednesday.

I tend to forget that I have a photo booth on my laptop. When I remember we find ourselves with pictures that look like these. There are many more of Clint seriously refusing the photo booth.

Anyways. Here’s my wish list for this week!

Hats, Jacket, Scarf, Sweater, Sweater

I didn’t realize this until after I had gathered all the photos together, but apparently I’m in a coral/red mood today. I also was searching for lots of chunky, snuggly, comfy things.

Hats– I love these hats with their cute little poof balls!! They are actually from the Gap who is showing signs of actually having a good holiday line this year. They’ve got some equally as cute scarves on their website, so you can go check those out. These are priced pretty well (under $20!) and I’m a big fan of the colors they offer them in… nothing too crazy. I have a couple of cute little hats but some of them are so colorful and out there I don’t feel like I can wear them with as much. Those three up there would look great with tons of colors so they offer more versatility- and bang for your buck!

Jacket– If I was a rich girl, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na. That’s the tune I’m singing to myself while I drool over this coat. Why do you do this to me J. Crew!??!! Why?! You make these incredible pieces of clothing that fit every single person just right, and look incredible. And then you make me give you an arm and a leg to have it. (While I’m on this.. seriously, has anyone else noticed how much more expensive this place has gotten lately?) This jacket is just winter perfection. I can see the snow falling around me while I do twirls in this trench. It’s so lovely I can’t hardly stand it.

Scarf– Someone, anyone, please buy me this scarf. please. Madewell has decided to name the color of this scarf, antler. Which I think means that Santa had a little input on this baby. I’m a super fan of the circle scarf but this one truly takes it to a whole new level- the flannel lining! I have maybe, possibly, already begun brainstorming outfit ideas to accent this seriously super scarf.

Multi-Color Sweater– There are many days that I walk into my closet and just want to throw on a sweater and have it all be done. That’s what I did today. But my sweater is boring and just plain green and 100% not an outfit maker. This multi-color sweater is most definitely an outfit maker and that’s why I need it. Throw on a pair of jeans, some boots and this easy peasy sweater and wham bam, done and done. And I can kind of also see this with my red jeans.. like a full on ombre outfit. It has potential to be amazing.

Holiday Sweater-So last year I bought my sister a Holiday-style sweater from J. Crew for Christmas that had moose/reindeer or some other winter animal on it. Ever since then I’ve been jealous and wanting to snatch one up of my own. This one is pretty simple (and inexpensive) and again, it makes for a complete outfit made simple. I imagine me wearing this sweater, Clint wearing this (ha!), as we sit around our fireplace sipping hot coco, singing along to Christmas carols and watching a Charlie Brown Christmas. (He actually hates Snoopy- ?!?? I know, right?!)

That’s what I’m wishing for this week!

Wish List Wednesday- Or the things I want but can’t have.

Although I think a more appropriate title for this post may be… Wish List Wednesday- Things that I like but everybody already has them so I don’t really want them anymore.

Sometimes, everyone thinks the same things are great. I will agree with the ranks of people who also like the things listed above, but I won’t be joining them. Because really guys, how fun is it to show up somewhere with that fab statement necklace on just to have the next girl over making the same statement?! Two outfits ruined, and now you’re stuck second-guessing putting that necklace on every time you go out. Of course you can’t help what other people buy and you just have to get yourself things that you like, but really, sometimes I think I might be the only person who doesn’t have one or more of the items above.

Whenever I see myself eyeballing someone’s arm candy it is almost always a Michael Kors watch. The man makes a beautiful piece of jewelry but I’m certainly more partial to things that everybody and their sister doesn’t already own.

The necklace… it is  e v e r y w h e r e. I challenge you to go on Pinterest and not see one. (And while you’re there you should go follow me). I of course see why people bought the beautiful baubles, and they come in tons of great colors, and really, they kind of always look fantastic. But, like I mentioned above, it’s not so great when your statement necklace isn’t the only statement being made.

This spiky bracelet has been worn by Rihanna, and since I sort of can’t stand her, and because every fashion blog I’ve ever read has this, I just can’t allow myself to indulge in this golden goodness. And ever since I first set my eyes on it I notice it more and more which just makes me want it less and less.

Do you guys ever do this too? Have you ever had something on your wish list and then suddenly realized it might be a good thing you don’t have it anymore?

Wish List Wednesday- Color me Turquoise.

We went camping last night.

It was in our living room and there was nice plates involved, but hey, we at least used real, not-purchased from Harris Teeter, firewood. And our s’mores were beyond amazing.

Here is what I’m currently eyeing.

Get in my closet- I’m going to go ahead and lump 1,2 and 3 into one category. The turquoise and teal section of my closet could always use some expanding. I figured a fun and flirty dress, a comfy-cas tunic dress and a western-inspired corduroy button up would do the trick. This color scheme just seems perfect as we transition into the colder days. And they can partner up with so many other great colors!

Handbag- Still on the hunt for a new fall handbag, as I am still using my slouchy brown overused and underloved cross body bag that’s seen a couple seasons too many. I particularly like the buckles and the sweet lace-like detail on the front. And the color… swooooooon.

FYI the background to this wish list is actually an illustration I found but I’m thinking it would make a lovely little accent/area rug. Nothing wrong with an all teal apartment, right?

I’d also like to announce that I desperately want to be in this commercial. It’s kind of my favorite right now (and even though my not-such-a-dreamer of a husband quickly shot back that I’m not famous so I can’t be in the commercial) I think all these people look like a fun time and I’d like to join them. :]
